The paths to a professorship, still usually the only way to work permanently in science and research, have become much more differentiated in recent years. One of the paths leads to a professorship via the habilitation. The requirements and services to be provided are regulated by the habilitation regulations of the faculties; in some cases, the faculties provide further information on habilitation procedures:
