When planning their career young scientists face a highly competitive environment: Anyone who succeeds in self-promotion, e.g. to demonstrate competencies and a professional attitude in a convincingly manner, has definitely higher chances on the academic job market.
Despite what many of us believe, know-how, discipline and hard work do not automatically lead to academic success. We like to think that our work speaks for itself, but that is not the case: achievements can only speak for someone if they are also seen.
In the workshop, we will analyse your opportunities for creating professional attention - in respect of your individual career plans and the criteria for "visibility" of the scientific community in question.
Depending on personality type, the affinity for sharing information via media is different. In the workshop we address all of these aspects and the participants develop the "promotion strategy" that suits them and their goals. The participants analyse which gatekeepers they need to be visible to and how in order to achieve their professional goals. They develop an SEO-based key wording strategy for their social media strategy and learn how to market their profile within the rules of science communication.
